SKILLS TO BE DEVELOPED IN THE INTERNSHIP
The development of human and professional skills is an integral part of the mission of Université de Hearst. The pedagogical signature of the courses and more particularly of the internship course therefore emphasizes the application of knowledge and the development of the skills listed below. Equipped with the observation grid to rate performance throughout the internship, the supervisor is also asked to complete an assessment report at the end of the experience with the intern.

Commitment and motivation to learn: The ability of the intern to achieve his/her goals with commitment and to be proud of his/her achievements.

Effectiveness: The extent to which the intern becomes proficient in task performance and work progression.

Responsibility and Concern for a Job Well Done: The intern's ability to set high standards for his/her own performance, to strive for quality work, to go the extra mile to ensure quality work.

Time management: The volume of work produced by the intern, as well as his/her speed and perseverance in implementation.

Problem Solving: The intern's ability to analyze problems or procedures, evaluate alternatives and select the best solution.

Teamwork and Collaboration: The work level of the intern in a team context.

Autonomy and Reliability: How well the intern performs in a work environment.

Ability to accept constructive criticism: How the intern responds to direction and constructive criticism.

Adaptability: The intern's ability to develop innovative solutions and demonstrate flexibility in unique or demanding circumstances.

Written Communication: The intern's ability to demonstrate effective written communication.

Oral Communication: The intern's ability to demonstrate effective oral communication.

Interpersonal Communication: The intern's ability to effectively listen, convey and receive ideas, information and direction.
Knowledge application
The intern will be required to review the knowledge acquired in previous courses and identify opportunities to apply it during the internship. That said, the intern must also demonstrate effective communication (written and oral) in French.
